Our courier, Purolator, delivers on weekdays between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM. Please note that the driver will not leave a package unless there is someone available to sign for it. If the driver cannot obtain a signature, he or she will leave a door tag offering several options. You can call Purolator at the number noted on the tag to make arrangements for redelivery of the package or to redirect the package to a different address. Alternatively, you can pick up the package at the local Purolator depot noted on the door tag. If alternative arrangements cannot be made and the package is not picked up at the depot within five business days, it will be returned to us and we will attempt to contact you to make new delivery arrangements. If you leave instructions with either the courier or CSBE to leave a package without a signature, you assume all responsibiliy for the package.
We ask parents and students to provide an alternative delivery address if there is no likelihood of someone being home to receive the package. The address of a business or a neighbour is often used in these situations. You can specify on your order any period you are not home to accept delivery. This data is encrypted as a security precaution.
There is no additional freight charge if we should have to send a back ordered book at a later date.

Your privacy is protected at the Canadian School Book Exchange (CSBE). When you provide your personal information to CSBE (such as name, address, phone number, company name, credit card information, or the products you are shopping for or purchasing) we will not give or sell your individual information to any outside company. We will maintain the confidentiality of your personal information and it will be used only to support your customer relationship with CSBE.
At CSBE, our intention is to send e-mail and other communications only to customers who have placed orders for the upcoming or current school year and only about those orders, or as specifically directed by your school.

Mistakes happen ... circumstances change ... we understand ... NO PROBLEM!
CSBE understands that students change courses at the beginning of the school year, and mistakes can be made when ordering books.
Before you write your name in a book or mark it in any way ...
- Check that you have the right title, and
- Be sure that you are not going to switch courses.
To return a book:
Call us at 905-828-7200 for a return authorization number and instructions on how to return it.
If the book has not been marked or damaged in any way, we will accept it back for a full refund until the following dates:
- Regular School Year: October 15th of that school year or 2 weeks after your receipt of the books from CSBE, whichever is later;
- Night/Online/Summer School: 1 week after your receipt of the books from CSBE.
For books returned after this period, we will make every effort to arrange for a refund (less a 12% restocking fee), but it will depend on the market for that particular
title.
In addition, if the book has been slightly marked or used, we cannot return it to the publisher and we will try to sell it as a used copy. Consequently, there will be a 30% reduction in the refund. For more severe damage, we may have to reduce the refund further. This includes new books that originally were provided with a CD or other supplementary materials not returned with the book.

Used books offered for sale on this web site have been expertly reconditioned by The Canadian School Book Exchange.
They contain no torn or missing pages, minimal writing and highlighting. We repair covers where needed and, in some cases, have the book freshly rebound. If there are any problems with the used books that you receive, please contact us immediately.

If you are interested in purchasing used books, do not wait to place your order as the date books are added to your order established your priority for substituting used books later. If you would like used books that become available before your order is shipped to be substituted in place of new books you purchase, answer "Yes" on the user login page when asked about used book substitution. You will then have an opportunity to modify this selection on a book-b-book basis on your order summary page.
We will reserve used books based on your order priority and substitute them as your
order is being packed. Any refunds resulting from the lower cost of substituted
books will be returned to you after your order has shipped.
You can follow your order history, including shipping and billing details, by returning
to the bookstore web page and clicking the “Track Order” button.
